Leash
types, sizing and explanation

Leashette, Lanyard or AnchorLine can also serve as a bird leash and harness. These items will keep your pet safely grounded and allow the FlightSuit to double as a harness. See size chart below for sizes of bird types.

A Leashette is for Petite, X-Small, and X-Small Plus sized FlightSuits. Leashettes are ultra lightweight for these smaller birds.

A Lanyard is for Jr. Small, Small, Medium and Large sized FlightSuits. Lanyards are 3 feet long and sturdy for safety.

An AnchorLine is for Wide, Custom Wide, Wide Plus, X-Wide, X-Wide Plus, X-Wide Long, X-Large, Jumbo, Mammoth and Colossal FlightSuits. Anchorlines are 4 feet long, stronger and heavier than the Lanyard.

Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQ")

Q1: What if my bird's breed is not listed above?
A1. In order to get the correct size for your bird, please take the following two measurements:
A1.1. Measure around the whole bird (the girth) at the fattest part, but don’t include the wings in the measurement. In other words, measure all the way around, but under the wings.
A1.2. Measure from the nape of the neck, along the bird's back, to the point where the tail feathers begin on the body.
A1.3. Now, in the size menu on this page (above the Add To Cart button) select the ** I don't know size. Below that in the "Bird type and age" text box, type the measurements from #A1.1. and #A1.2.

Q2: What if my bird is a baby? Can I buy the Flightsuit size that the baby bird will grow into?
A2: Yes, the proper, tested procedure is to buy the adult-sized Flightsuit for your bird. Then, use strings to make the FlightSuit more snug until your bird grows into it.

Looked just like the picture. It looked great but is definitely harder to put on than the video appears. I have a baby bird that I can do whatever with and she was very upset and continually chewed on it ($40 this thing is not cheap so I didn't want her chewing through it on the 1st trial). It seems that the Velcro on their back is very bulky and uncomfortable. I haven't tried the Velcro that attaches the leash yet because I don't want to have to undo the thing once I get it on. It does work for the diaper! I was surprised how well it did work...no messes on the bird and especially no messes on me! I must state that I have a small Senegal Parrot and the discomfort may just be because of her size. I have not given up on this product. I will continue to work with it and, once weather is warmer, take her outside and see if that gets her mind off of the harness and she can look forward to putting it on.

Advantages: Looks great and diaper works great.

Disadvantages: Hard to get on. Too bulky on back between wings. Have to unvelcro to put leash attachment on.

I bought this because my Pinapple Conure wasn’t “potty trained”. Surprise! She is now! She never soiled the diaper but as soon as she went back in her cage she’d “go”. Now when I take her out she doesn’t “go” on me! I use the diaper and harness when we leave home but now I don’t need it when at home!

Advantages: Clean shoulders!

Disadvantages: She still hates having it put on
