Eemax was founded in 1988 with a wide range of tankless water heaters for commercial applications in a range of sizes from .5gpm up to about 1.5gpm. Eemax's original technology was patented and rapidly emerged among the most flexible technology in the market. It was a critical element in the early stages in the development of the electric tankless heaters market in the US.
Throughout the US, there is a huge variation in its climate and the temperature of the municipal and groundwater supplies. During those days, there were still no tankless water heaters available in the market that could serve the varying temperate zones in the country. Manufacturers were unwilling to stock and produce the many product configurations which were necessary to cover the US market. The first product by Eemax, the 9.5 kW Flow Control invented in 1989, was simple on/off device intended for hand-washing applications. This patented modular design led to other units with up to 277 volt capacities, electronic thermostats, and adjustable flow. These were included to the product line early on, expanding the electric tankless heaters market by the early 1990's
Throughout the 1990's, Eemax managed to expand its market leadership position by continually expanding its product line to address applications that demand a higher flow rate. The new Eemax Series Two and Three heaters addressed a wide variety of hot water commercial applications from 1.5 to 5gpm.
In the early 2000, Eemax addressed a growing demand for electric tankless heaters by introducing a new line of residential products so that consumers can enjoy the benefits of tankless water heating. Over the last 5 years, Eemax has established a position of leadership in the residential market, complementing its already successful commercial business.
In 2003, Eemax enhanced its position as the dominant supplier in commercial applications even further by introducing its patented Series Six and Twelve family of high capacity water heaters.
These products were designed for industrial and commercial applications from 6 up to 25+ gpm. Furthermore, there are models in this product category designed specifically for point-of-use emergency and safety equipment applications, such as safety face, eye and shower systems.
