Get instant hot water far away from your water heater, even without a recirc loop

NaviCirc provides instant hot water far away from your NPE-A series heater, even with existing pipes, without a dedicated return line. Many homes do not have a dedicated recirculation loop installed. Retrofitting a home to install the loop is often prohibitively expensive.

NaviCirc solves that problem with a smart, simple idea. With the NPE-A unit’s built-in pump, water circulates through the NaviCirc to preheat the hot water lines, using the old supply line as the return line back to the water heater.

• Designed and optimized for the Navien NPE-A series water heaters: NPE-180A, NPE-210A and NPE-240A. If the heater was manufactured before 12/14/2015, then it would need an upgraded PCB and front panel which you can buy here.
• When the hot water temperature within the valve is about 95°F (35°C), then NaviCirc automatically stops the recirculation.
• Compatible with the Navien HotButton with on-demand-type recirculation

How it works:

The NaviCirc allows you to use the cold water supply line as the return line back to the water heater. The NPE-A unit’s built-in pump circulates water through the NaviCirc to preheat the hot water lines. For best results, install the NaviCirc recirculation valve at the accessible water fixture that is furthest from the water heater.

Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQ")

Q1: Will the NaviCirc work with my NPE-180S (or any Navien NPE-S series unit, or another tankless water heater model without a built-in recirculation pump)?
According to Navien tech support, the NaviCirc will not work with any NPE-S series heater or other model, even if you add an external recirculation pump.

Q2: I have a Navien tankless water heater. I am disappointed by how long it takes for the hot water to get the sink faucets which are in two separate vanities. If I have two sinks in a bathroom, does each sink need a NaviCirc, or just the sink that is the farther from the water heater?
A2: You would install the NaviCirc on the furthest faucet on the line.

Q3: Does this work with NFC-175 unit and Navien HotButton? Page 35 of operators/install manual says it does. And what temperature does the valve close at?
A3: The HotButton does work with the NFC series as long as you do not install the NaviCirc device in the loop. As of 2-20-2020, page 35 of the manual is incorrect with the depiction of the NaviCirc in the loop. Navien states that the manual and and quick facts sheet are being corrected.
Regarding the NFC series heater with the external recirculation mode active, a call by the wired HotButton(s) will activate the external pump for the timed sequence programmed into the parameters. The optional temperature sensor in the recirculation loop is not used. Page 37 of the manual depicts the correct plumbing and wiring for this. You do not need the additional HotButton circuit board for the NFC. You only need as many Hotbuttons as you want to install. Note that the Aquastat device cannot be used in conjunction with the HotButton, as noted in the literature. The Installation and Operators Manual can be found at
